Ben Stiller stars in this indie comedy about a man who deals with his mid-life crisis by doing nothing. Stiller actually seems appealing when he's not trying to be zany. Watch for this one on March 12.
Toy Story 3
This new international trailer shows a little more of the trauma inflicted upon our toy heroes after Andy goes off to college and they are donated to a daycare center. Looks like this one has all the charm of the first two installments. That June 18th release date can't come soon enough.

Percy Jackson & the Olylmpians: The Lightning Thief
You go years without seeing Medusa and then all of a sudden we get two in one week. Percy Jackson is a descendant of both mortals and greek gods, and apparently his lineage comes with some way cool powers and some fearsome villains who want to do him in (among which is Uma Thurman as the aforementioned Medusa). Based on a series of books and directed by Chris Columbus, who helmed the first two Harry Potter films, this looks like it could be some good escapist teen fun, though not quite on the same level as Harry Potter. Watch for this on February 12.
Clash of the Titans
As for Medusa number two, she is just one of the monstrosities in this remake of the 1981 film about the adventures of Perseus from Greek mythology. Most of the original film's charm comes from the stop-motion effects by Ray Harryhausen, so it will be interesting to see how well the ideas translate to modern effects technology. The clash begins on March 26.
Remember Me
Robert Pattinson plays the tortured emo kid card once more in this drama about a young man trying to find his way. He's really got the angry young man thing down and Lost's Emile de Ravin makes for an appealing romantic interest. This will be out on March 12.

Kick-Ass
Why don't people in real life put on a costume, get a few gadgets and fight crime? Because the idea is completely bonkers. This flick based on a comic book by Mark Millar features a group of young people putting on the spandex and, as the title suggests, kicking some ass. This looks pretty cool, but we'll find out for sure on April 16.
Extraordinary Measures
Brendan Fraser stars as a father whose children are dying from a genetic disorder. Desperate to save them he funds the work of an eccentric but brilliant researcher (Harrison Ford) in hopes of finding a cure. I suspect this will be a good old fashioned tear-jerker. If that's your cup of tea you can check it out on January 22.
Grown Ups
A bunch of SNL veterans (Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock and David Spade) along with that guy from King of Queens (Kevin James) play old friends reuniting for the first time in 30 years. The "reunion" formula is one of those cliches I remember my Writing Arts teacher warning me away from, and it doesn't look like they're doing anything especially original with it. This will be out on June 25. (Watch the trailer after the jump)

Despicable Me
Second trailer for this 3D animated comedy, and this time it's focusing on arch villain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) trying to break into the headquarters of a rival bad guy. This looks like fun and the bit with the shark had me howling. Check it out on July 9.
Sherlock Holmes
A second trailer for the new Holmes fllck with Robert Downey Jr. in the title role aided by Jude Law as Watson. Pretty sure this will have awesome written all over it. Plan a trip to Baker Street for Christmas day.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
There's some serious spectacle at work here. Jake Gyllenhaal stars in this adaptation of a video game I've never played, but I'm pretty sure that's not necessary. It seems tailor-made to be a summer blockbuster, which is good because it comes out on May 28.
Best Worst Movie
Speaking as someone who has watched and enjoyed some truly awful films in his time, this one really speaks to me. This documentary examines the phenomenon/train wreck that is Troll 2, a 1990 horror flick whose badness has become legendary. No release date yet and I suspect this will be hard to find in theaters.
How to Train Your Dragon
In this new animated comedy from Dreamworks, a viking teenager is trying to learn the ways of his people including hunting and killing those pesky dragons that are plaguing them. He soon learns, though, that everything his people know about dragons is wrong and sets out on his own path. Training begins on March 26.

Trailer Park: A Mammoth Green Avatar

A paraplegic marine from Earth has his consciousness transferred into an alien body so he can infiltrate the native people of a distant planet. More so than the teaser, this one gives a better idea of what the story is all about rather than just showing off the digital effects (which ARE pretty awesome). James Cameron's latest hits theaters on December 18.
Green Zone
Military action flick starring Matt Damon as a U.S. soldier searching for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The story is inspired by the book Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone by Rajiv Chandrasekaran. The bit about Damon's character wanting to know why things are happening seems kind of heavy handed and I half expected Jack Nicholson to pop up and tell him "you can't handle the truth." Still, this looks like it's got a lot going for it. Watch for this one on March 12.

The Wolfman
This is the second trailer for the remake of the Universal Monsters classic and it's got me hungry for more. Benicio Del Toro plays Lawrence Talbot, a man cursed to become half-man half-wolf during the full moon. Watch for this on February 10.
Season of the Witch
In this supernatural tale of medieval mayhem, Nicolas Cage plays a knight escorting a witch who is believed to be responsible for the black plague. There are some cool images here, but nothing is put into any context so it's hard to feel one way or the other about this one. The season begins on March 19.

Full length trailer for the Disney/Pixar sequel in which Andy goes off to college leaving Woody, Buzz and the gang to be donated to a daycare center. Looks like a worthy successor to the franchise. The toys start getting real again on June 18.
Serious Moonlight
In sort of a romantic comedy take on Misery, Meg Ryan plays a woman who duct tapes her cheating husband (Timothy Hutton) to the toilet and refuses to release him until he loves her again. Could be a cute idea but it's got a "wait for the DVD" feel. Watch for this one on December 4.
Dear John
Channing Tatum plays a soldier home on leave who falls in love with a college student (Amanda Seyfried) and carries on a long correspondence (hence the title) once he returns to duty. This is out on February 5.
The Missing Person
Filmnoir about a PI hired to tale a man who we eventually learn supposedly died on 9/11. I love the retro look and style of this one which will be out some time in 2009.
Broken Embraces
The synopsis for this one sounds intriguing -- a man chooses to ignore the life he lived before the accident that caused his blindness and killed his beloved -- but I don't see any of that in the trailer. On the plus side, Penelope Cruz is as stunning as ever. This will be playing New York on November 20 and Los Angeles on December 11.

Cinematical has just received this exclusive poster for The Spy Next Door, starring everyone's favorite martial arts maniac Jackie Chan as a secret agent undercover and acting like a mild-mannered guy who, while babysitting his neighbor's kids, winds up having to fight off secret agents after one of the kids inadvertently downloads some secret code. Don't you hate it when that happens? You meant to download the latest episode of The Office on Hulu when all of a sudden you end up accidentally hacking into the Pentagon? Oh internet, you so crazy.
Also starring in this War Games meets Spy Kids meets Adventures in Babysitting-type action-comedy are Billy Ray Cyrus and George Lopez, and Brian Levant (Jingle All the Way, Snow Dogs, Are We There Yet?) is the man behind the camera. As an added bonus, Moviefone just premiered the trailer for The Spy Next Door in conjunction with our poster premiere, so after you check out the art, head after the jump to take this sucker for a ride.

Trailer Park: Bad Doctors and 2012 Messengers

Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Terry Gilliam directs this tale about a wager with the devil. Like many I'm curious to see how the film holds together with the last minute change of having Heath Ledger's character played by Ledger and three other actors (Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell) but I think Gilliam has what it takes to pull this off. This one starts its limited release on Christmas day.
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Werner Herzog directs this sort of remake of Abel Ferrara's 1992 masterpiece of excess Bad Lieutentant. This time it's Nicolas Cage who tarnishes the badge in New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I haven't been thrilled with Cage's choices of projects lately, but this one has my attention. The film goes into limited release on November 20.
2012
This newest trailer has dampened my enthusiasm for this movie. Sure the disaster effects look great, but the car and plane dodging unscathed between collapsing freeways and crumbling buildings breaches credibility. If you're still interested you can witness the end of everything on November 13.
Trailer Park: Nightmare Fairies and Crazy Chipmunks

A Nightmare on Elm Street
Jackie Earle Haley is the new Freddy Krueger in this remake that seems to be staying pretty close to the original (that shot above ring any bells?). Freddy's got the striped sweater, the hat and of course the claw. We don't see much of his face but there's enough to tell Freddy's sporting a new albeit still burned to a crisp look. Haley was great in Watchmen, but director Samuel Bayer has a resume filled with mostly music videos so I'm not too optimistic. The nightmare begins on April 30.
Tooth Fairy
Dwayne Johnson plays a mean spirited pro hockey player who is sentenced to serve time working as a tooth fairy, complete with wings, shrinking and invisibility. Seriously? I realize I'm not the target demo, but seriously? This will be out on January 22.
